About
Christopher E. Nicholls, M.D., FACOG, was born in Newport News, Virginia, and his family moved to Dothan when he was three years old. He attended Northview High School and then went to Birmingham Southern College, majoring in religion. He continued his education at the University of South Alabama, where he was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Nicholls then completed an obstetrics and gynecology internship and residency at the University of Cincinnati in 2003. He and his wife moved back to Dothan in July of 2003 to join Women's HealthCare of Dothan.
Dr. Nicholls is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During his residency, he received the V. Bradley Roberts Memorial Award from The Christ Hospital, honoring the chief resident with outstanding operative gynecologic ability. He was also awarded the Esprit de Corps Award by the faculty at the University of Cincinnati for best exemplifying 'A Spirit of Cooperation and Congeniality." Dr. Nicholls is a member of the Medical Association of Alabama and the Houston County Medical Society. He has served as the president of the Houston County Medical Society. As a member of the Flowers Hospital medical staff, he has served as the chief of women's and children's services, chairman of the morbidity and mortality committee, vice-Chief of the medical staff and chief of staff. In addition, he volunteers as the medical director of Wiregrass Hope Group, a local ministry that supports pregnant women and their families.
